Outreach Mission
"We are called to be instruments of his love and to use our gifts to meet the deepest spiritual, social, and physical needs of people in our congregation, community, and world." The Outreach Commission of The Presbyterian Church of Toms River is called to bring God's love and caring to those in need. We accomplish this with mission projects in our community, our state, and overseas. The Commission is also responsible for making the congregation aware of and then showing them how we might better support the needs of others locally, regionally, and internationally. We do this by presenting the Minutes for Mission during worship to promote awareness and offerings for special causes. Some of those causes include the CROP Walk, Interfaith Hospitality Network, Thanksgiving Food Baskets, Urban Promise, Letters for Bread for the World, Church World Service, and Haiti. The commission is also responsible for producing an Advent devotional booklet. Updated 10/23/03 |
