Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN)

The Interfaith Hospitality Network involves several churches in Ocean County.  Every six weeks, our church provides living quarters for one week to select homeless families.  Volunteers from PCTR provide food for guests' dinners and breakfasts during the week, visit with guests in the evening, tutor, read or play with the children, and stay overnight with our guests.

Caregivers of Ocean County

This is an ecumenical effort to support Seniors in Ocean County who need some assistance to remain in their homes and live independently. Sandra Bell, of our congregation, is the Executive Director of Caregivers.

Crop Walk

Each October, Church World Service sponsors a walk to help Stop World Hunger.  Approximately 15 churches in the community participate in this walk.  The Outreach Commission invites members of our congregation to either (1) walk, (2) sponsor a walker, (3) make a donation, (4) purchase a shirt, and (5) pray for the success of our effort.  Many of our members sign up to walk each year.

Thanksgiving Food Baskets

Each year we provide food baskets to deserving families in the Toms River and Lakewood areas.  Responding to a critical need, the PCTR provides over 140 baskets annually to needy families.  The Outreach Commission oversees the work of the Thanksgiving Program Committee as it manages this effort.  Volunteers and Junior High Youth from the congregation donate money and food, sort and pack the food, and deliver these baskets to the families.
